Magnolia - Boy in a Boat

While I am trying to get my Blog up and running again I thought I would show you some cards I have done over the past couple of years.  This one was towards the end of my stamping time.  Although I still do stamping I haven't done anything for quite a while but that does not mean I wont go back to it soon.

This card is one that I did for my Father-In-Law and it was an adventure in itself.

Although I had seen something similar to this I did not have a pattern but I did enjoy putting the boat together and then adding the stamped pieces and decorating the boat.

It was something different and reminded me how much I like Off-The-Page Scrapbooking.  Watch out for further examples in the coming weeks.

Why I have been away

Hi Everyone

It has been a long long time since I was last on my blog and I have really missed telling everyone about my cards.

Although I have not been on my blog I have been very busy.

It started a long time ago when my lovely daughter decided to do the typical Aussie thing and go and work in the UK for two years. The thing is while working so hard in London and travelling around Europe she met the love of her life. So of course she bought him home to Australia.

Then 20 months later he proposed and to make it really easy the happy couple decided to get married in his home town of Rye in southern England. I think she decided that solely to make sure Mum and Dad finally went to England and travel around both England and Europe - which of course is what we did.

Also leading up to the wedding I helped with all the decorations, cards, invitations and not to mention her flowers, so over the past 18 months we have been busy but serious work had to be done to pull off a successful wedding from across the world.  All the work that went into is a story for another time.

Needless to say I have actually missed making my cards and learning all the new techniques and exploring the supplies that are now available.

Cherish the Moments

Hi All

I have been really slack this last year but now I am getting back into writing my blog.

It is all thanks to this wonderful woman Becca Feeken from Amazing Paper Grace and her inspiration.

I have just commented on one of her beautiful cards talking about how I send a special card to my mother in New Zealand every month.  I live in Australia and only get to see her two or three times a year.  She is 92 years old and is suffering from severe dementia but she loves getting the cards.  Mum doesn't know who sends them, as she doesn't recognise any of us children any more, but she does realise the person who sent the card to her is special and important in her life. - We all Love You Mum.

This is the latest card I sent to her - I hope you all like it as much as I enjoyed making the card and filling it full of love for my Mum.
