Couture Creations Design Team Audition 2019

Hi Everyone

This is my blog to apply for the Couture Creations Design Team Audition 2019.

I have to showcase my three favourite projects and have found that very hard as I love most of the work that I do.

I have chosen three pieces that have been special to me

The first one is a layout which took me out of my comfort zone and it is the layout
'Red Lips"

I have used texture paste on the background for this layout and have also stamped  black and red inks on the background with bubblewrap.  I then layered die cuts, black lace and feathers and with lots of flowers scattered on the page.  Please email me for the instructions to make this beautiful project.

My second piece is the GypsyVan that I created.

I had such fun making this project with adding the flowers on the roof of the van, on the little windows on the side of the van and the back not to mention the pair of shoes on the front fence.

Please pop over to the GypsyVan page where you can also see the video of the photos.

My 3rd project was harder to chose as I wanted to show something that I had used Couture Creations papers and there are a couple of posts show casing the beautiful papers but I also wanted to show my cards so decided on the trio of Hatbox Cards

I hope you all like the beautiful projects and please follow the links to find out more about each of the projects.

Please continue to explore other pages I have done such as:

Pretty in Yellow
Travelling Little Boy Blue

Art Deco Book for Kaye

Last year made this book for a dear friend of my who decided it was time to retire.
I knew that she loved all things Art Deco and so I decided to make this beautiful little book for her.  I used the wonderful Couture Creations papers to make the book and decorate the pages inside.

There are three sections to the book and each one had a different cover on it and each of the pages were decorated with pictures and pockets but I made sure that there were still pages available to be used as a journal or for all those little notes and sayings that you want to keep.

Now that I have given this lovely little book away I am in the middle of making a similar one that I can keep and use myself.

Treasure Always

This little Treasure Chest is something I put tougher one lazy afternoon.  I had the little chest and although I had decorated it many years ago I never really liked the outcome, so one lazy Sunday afternoon after cleaning my craft room for the 100th time this year (it always gets so messy while I am creating) that I decided to use the Couture Creations paper Seaside Me paper.
I had fun decorating the box with chipboard shapes of fish and coral and,
little beads to represent shells on the sea floor and then little shapes
like the anchor and little bottle of beads.

This is a little video showing all the pictures of the little Treasure Box.

The many costumes of Venice

Hi Everyone

When I so exciting when I saw saw the More than Words Challenge for October as the word challenge was Costume and I immediate remembered the time my husband and I spend in Venice.

I enjoyed making this layout as it bought back beautiful memories of our holiday and time in Europe

My layout was inspired by the beautiful time we had exploring the little lanes throughout Venice including the one where our hotel was - it took us three attempts to find the lane as it was tucked between two shops and certainly did not look like an area where we would have normally venture.  However, once we ventured down the lane we found our beautiful hotel which was full of friendly helpful people.

The layout was done on a piece of black card stock on which I used a stencil and Candince  Diamond Pearl Paste to put a little bit of dimension over it.  I then splashed some Perfect Pearls Mists - Sunflower Sparkle around the area where I knew the photo would go and then lightly sprayed some delusions Shimmer spray (white linen) over the area. I did not want to much over the black background as I wanted the background to be the striking contrast to the golds I was using.

I used photos of from the Caranval Venice which is held every February - one more thing for the bucket list.

While I was making the frill on the side little specks of gold dropped off and went all over the card.

I do hope you like this page and if you want to see more beautiful pages please jump over to More than Words Challenge.
