Always Be Happy

Once again I am entering the

I really love entering this competition as it make me think of what the photo means to me and how I can create a layout that will enhance the photo and make it almost pop of the page.
I hope you like this layout of a special little girl who just loves swinging on the swing in the park.
She reminds us always to "Always Be Happy"

I have used both 49 & Market papers and flowers with a few other flowers that I have had in my stash for a number of years.
Before I started layering the photo, muslim and flowers I first used some Candence paste coloured Sage to put some texture on the background of the page.

I then used thick string to attach the photo to the Layered Embellishments from 49 & Market of the tree branches.  I then used more embellishments in the way of the butterflies and some of the little flowers.

I hope you like my layout - I really love working with all the beautiful flowers, papers and embellishments from 49 & Market.

Butterfly Flowers

This is just a little something I put together the other weekend.  I had this square bottle Kindly given to me by my husband after he had finished all the wonderful liquid in the bottle.

I decided I needed a vase in my room where all the butterflies could land and help with the decoration - well ok so they are paper butterflies but its nice to have a little imagination.

I first covered the bottle with Gesso and then covered with Prima Marketing - Finnabair Art Extravagance Concrete Effect.

Once this was dry, I painted it with a light pink paint.  I actually had to put two coats of paint over the bottle.
After this was dry layered flowers up the side the bottle/vase.  But then I realised it actually needed some flowers or something else to sit in the bottle.
I first tried to just put paper butterflies on florist wire but it didn't sit right, it was not strong enough to sit upright.  So after a visit to the local $2 shop I came home with these lovely branches where I glued butterflies all over it and also threaded some clear and pink beads to cotton and tied to the twigs.

I used some old flowers I already had but also die cut some leaves to put around the flowers.  I also tied a bow near the bottom of the flowers.  The flowers are all down one side of the bottle, over the top and part way down the back.

It was just a little bit of fun and I hope you all like it.

Christmas Box

Hi Everyone
I have been surfing the web and decided I would enter a few more competitions.  I really loved this one from Studio 75
The competition called for box made with love
This box is one I made for a friend for Christmas, the person who was lucky enough to receive this box loves flowers and especially Christmas flowers and everything Christmas.
The paper I used is a discontinued one from Kaiser Craft and the flower are all handmade.  Please come back again or register for my updates as I will be starting my new venture where I will be showing you how new techniques or how to make these pretty flowers.
I have used embossing powder on the trees and then layered it all with some special sentiment words to finish of the box.
Around the sides of the box are rows of pearls.

I hope you all like this lovely little box - I gave it to a friend with a special Christmas gift inside.

Happy Box Making.
