Nothing Exists Without Its Opposite

Hi Everyone

I just loved the Art Daily Cafe February 2021 Mood Board - the deep reds, the contrast and the elegance of the board.

Below is my creation from the wonderful February Moodboard.
I found this beautiful photo of an elegant lady and through Photoshop coloured her lips that deep rich red.
I then used the contrast colours of red, black and the background white to put together this creation. The background textures and the use of feathers, die cut shapes and flowers both purchased and home made (to match the background red) has highlighted the elegant photo.

Hope this has been a little bit of inspiration for you all
Happy Crafting

Welcome to 2021 and Change of Name

Welcome to 2021

 Hi Everyone

It has been quite a while since I have added anything to this BLOG, 2020 was a long tough year with COVID-19 has touching everyones lives around the world in one way or another, some more than others.  I would like to wish you all a safe wonderful and creative 2021.

Over the past 12 months I lost my mojo in relation Scrapbooking - family has taken  centre stage for the past two years but more so over the last six months.

To try and try and get my enthusiasm back I started watching YouTube and over the last three months I have rediscovered my Art again - Thanks to the wonderful Anna Finnabair Dabrowska (or as most of you know her by Finnabair)  and her classes both on YouTube and also through the wonderful Patreon site.

Although I initially started watching Finnabair's classes on YouTube I joined Finnabair's Facebook page and through this discovered that she has a Patreon page.  I pay a small amount each month and with this I am able to attend her classes online, receive discount coupons, find out about new products prior to release and get invited to the online parties.  The New Year Eve party was fun and very enlightening - even if I did attend it early the next morning because of the time difference.

I also get notifications about other Facebook classes that she does such as the one that I watched the other day at 5am.  Although I will not decorate a Lamp myself I did pick up some really great tips and ideas. 😀

As part of my new enthusiasm I have also changed the name of this blog to reflect my new direction I am wanting to continue in.  - The new name is now 'Glenda's Creations'.

Since I started watching these classes I have started decorating book covers and have a couple of examples below.

This was the first book I did and I think the best so far - I took it to work and duly sold it to one of the lovely ladies at work for her Mother.

I then went on to make a selection of little books that I did for those little presents for friends at Christmas.

I enjoyed making this book as I was making it for a colleague who lives in another State and has worked and looked after her children during the continued COVID-19 lockdown.

I do hope you might be able to find some inspiration from these books.

Treasured Pieces

When I first started the craft of Scrapbooking I was fortunately enough to be told about a wonderful Blog by Becca Feeken and her blog Amazing Paper Grace. Ever since my first visit to the Blog I have been following Becca - if you get the chance please check out all the beautiful cards, boxes and accessories on her Blog.

The other day I got really excited when I noticed for the first time that Becca had put a call out for her Design Team. Her work is stunning and the cards are very elegant. I love the way she uses Ribbon and Bows on each of her cards and look forward to the new Spellbinders Dies she showcases each time with the beautiful cards, off-the page items and the mixed variety of other beautiful projects.

I would love to purchase her Dies but the postage cost from the USA puts them out of my budget. I do however, check out my local suppliers regularly to check to see if they have come in but most of the time I am not that lucky.

The Design Team Call-Out asks for a link to my favourite blog piece and truthfully I found that very hard, therefore I decided to make it this post and showoff a number of my most treasured pieces.

I hope you all enjoy the lovely pieces I have made:

These little beauties are actually little boxes that open up to keep your little trinkets safe.

I had fun making this - so much so I made two, the one in the link above and this one which I made out of 49@Market Papers and Flowers

This is one of my favourite layouts and shows of the my Mixed Media skills, and the beautiful flowers that I made to compliment the beautiful elegant lady in the photo.

Of course any selection of work would not be complete without a selection of cards - some of them in boxes, some just as cards for special occasions.

Check out the link - there is a special surprise with this card come box

This is a mixture of cards for different occasions.

Thank you for stopping by and visiting my Blog, I do hope you all like this selection of projects
that I have created over the past 12 months and please message me if you have any questions regarding any of the projects.
Please "Follow" me so that you don't miss out on future projects that I will be working on.
